ARCHITECT: CASS GILBERT (1901-07)

National Museum of the American Indian in New York is located in the George Gustav Heye Center opened in the Custom House in 1994.
The building, located at 1 Bowling Green in Manhattan, was designed in the Beaux-Arts architectural style by Cass Gilbert.
We made a fairly brief visit here to see what they had on my grandson Mason's Indian heritage.
This area of indian history on his tribal ancestry was quite scarce... I would think that the main museum in D.C. what be more comprehensive.
Although I am not a particular fan of the Beaux-Arts style, it was a nicely proportioned and detailed building.
